Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey will miss some games indefinitely as he entered the league’s health and safety protocols, the team announced Friday.

Per NBA’s revised COVID ruling, Ivey needs to flash two-consecutive negative tests in a 24-hour span in order to make his return to the Pistons. He last played in the Pistons’ loss against the Charlotte Hornets, finishing with 16 points, six assists, and three rebounds.

The Pistons’ coveted lottery pick last year, Ivey is averaging 15.4 points on 41.5 percent shooting. He is also dropping 4.9 assists and 3.9 boards in 62 total games played.

With him out, veteran Cory Joseph and Killian Hayes will split up the rotational minutes of Ivey.
