Detroit Pistons swingman Hamidou Diallo has suffered a Grade 2 right ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in a three-to-four-week timeline, the club announced Tuesday.

Diallo sustained the sprain last Monday when the Pistons lost at home against the visiting Portland Trail Blazers.

Given the indicated length of his recovery, it is safe to assume that Detroit will finally shut him down for the remainder of the season since they currently dwell at the bottom part of the Eastern Conference standings with a 15-51 record.

Diallo, 24, averaged 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists this season as he played 56 games off the bench. He is shooting a career-best 57.3 percent shooting.
