While some players in the NBA miss games due to load managing, Russell Westbrook always plays unless he is injured.

The former league MVP has played 82 or close to 82 regular season games 9 times. Westbrook says that it is because of how he approaches the game.

“I don’t take this game for granted,” the new Clippers signing said. “It’s something that I value, that I cherish. If I’m healthy and able to play, I go out and play always. When I was younger some people told me I wanna one of my OG’s told me ‘You never know who’s watching.’

“I always value the one kid that drove a thousand miles to come see me play this random night and if I don’t play, I feel like letting that one fan down and I always have that in my min.

“if I’m able to play and obviously not hurt anything, but if I’m able to fight through some stuff and go out and compete not just for the fans, but for my teammates and organization, I always do. So I always keep that in my mind and finding ways to be able to go out and play.”
