Since joining the Lakers, Austin Reaves has been getting hit in the face by his opponents’ elbows quite often. A recent example of that was during the game against the Warriors when Jonathan Kuminga knocked the shooting guard when trying to post him up.

Reaves needed ice to believe a swell under his left eye, but was able to continue the game. Afterwards he was asked about the recurring elbow hits that he is getting.

“I don’t know, it probably says I’m not very smart for taking hits all the time,” the 24-year-old shooting guard smiled. “I don’t know, I just try to be in the right position at the right time and sometimes that’s the wrong position at the right time. I got two free-throws, I bricked one, I’mma blame it on being hit. It’s part of the game.”

Reaves finished the game with 8 points. He was given a major assignment in defense in the fourth quarter as he was guarding Klay Thompson.
