For De’Aaron Fox, he couldn’t be more delighted by the fact that general manager Monte McNair was handed a well-deserved extension.

For the Sacramento Kings franchise star, the move made by the club can only promote consistency and stability for all key units of their ongoing rise.

“It’s great. Just to have consistency throughout the organization, you want that to be the last thing you’re worried about is no extension,” Fox told Chris Biderman of Sacramento Bee. “Just from top to bottom, I feel like everybody wants to know that they have a little bit of security. I feel like you do your job better when you’re secure.”

The Kings have given McNair a multi-year extension for ushering in a job well done so far this season.

Under McNair’s watch, the franchise rose and became a Western Conference competitor that sits third in the standings and on the verge to break its 16-year playoff drought. He also was the one responsible for bringing in head coach Mike Brown, drafting Keegan Murrat, and tapping significant offseason acquisitions in Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk.
