San Antonio Spurs sharpshooter Doug McDermott talked about rookie Malaki Branham’s journey since battling through injuries and getting assigned to the G League early on (averaging 13.0 PPG/1.5 RPG/1.5 APG/2.0 SPG/76.9% FG/62.5% 3-PT/100% FT during his last two games).

(via Locked On Spurs):

“I know he battled some ankle injuries early on, and he was a little rusty there for a little bit. It can be hard when you’re going back and forth from Austin to here. I think he’s getting comfortable. He can play the point guard and the off-guard position. He just has a very high IQ, he knows how to play. It’s great to see him perform like this.”
