Both Nikola Vucevic and the Chicago Bulls have no ongoing talks of a potential contract extension, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports.

According to Fischer, the Bulls never really had talked of hammering their partnership with Vucevic, who is now on a contract year this 2022-23 season.

There are no ongoing contract extension conversations between the Bulls and Nikola Vucevic, sources told Yahoo Sports. Chicago never truly had significant negotiations to restructure its starting center’s deal. Whether that points to greater trade activity with the Bulls, of course, remains to be seen.

Right now, Chicago remains at the depths of the Eastern Conference with questions swirling around them. They have an 11-16 record with floor general Lonzo Ball that remains yet to be seen if will eventually make his return this season.

There is still little optimism glowing but with their current exploits being lowly, rumblings are getting loud that they should demolish their core and start from scratch. It all boils down if they can eventually defy the odds with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine leading them.

This season, Vucevic is averaging 16.2 points, 10.7 boards, and 2.8 assists in 49.5 percent shooting. While these numbers are considered solid for the two-time All-Star big man, the Bulls are still looking to finally make a needed jump collectively.
