The San Antonio Spurs have signed Stanley Johnson to a one-year contract, the team officially announced on Tuesday. The Spurs waived Alize Johnson, who has an unguaranteed deal, to make space for Johnson.

Johnson notably played last season for the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. He was a part of the Lakers’ package that was sent to the Utah Jazz the last offseason to acquire Patrick Beverley.

The 26-year-old forward was drafted by the Detroit Pistons for the eighth overall pick and went on to play also for the Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Spurs are currently owning a 9-18 record, 14th best within the Western Conference.
