DeMar DeRozan, who was close to joining the Lakers in the summer of 2021, could still end up with the Purple and Gold.

It was reported earlier this month that there were internal discussions in Los Angeles about trading for DeRozan and his teammate Nikola Vucevic.

Even though no moves were made, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report reports that the interest from the Lakers in the two Bulls players is still there.

Chicago is currently in the 11th place in the Eastern Conference and could become more open to the idea of letting two of their key players go if the Lakers agree give up their two first-round picks (2027 and 2029) in return along with Russell Westbrook.

This season DeRozan is averaging 25.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 34.8 minutes per game for the Bulls. Meanwhile, Vucevic is averaging 16.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31.9 minutes per game.
