Joao Paulo Batista was released by Lietuvos Rytas and already signed with Latvian club Barons Riga. Brazilian failed to impress coach Aleksandar Trifunovic this season. His place in the team was in doubt for some time already and with the arrival of Jackson Vroman it was announced that one player will be cut from the team.
Batista could have a chance to play against his former team, Lietuvos Rytas, if his new club reach Baltic Basketball League Final Four where Rytas is expected to play. J.P. Batista won BBL title last year, also played in LKL and ULEB Cup finals.
