Weed-smuggler WNBA player Brittney Griner, who was seen with closely cropped hair in images of her swap for Viktor Bout, was not forced to chop off her dreads – she cut them because they froze in the Russian cold.
“It’s very cold in there and every time she washed her hair she got cold and would get a chill,” Griner’s attorney Maria Blagovolina said, referring to the penal colony.
“She should have waited until New Year’s Day,” the lawyer added.
