Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey explained why it’s so difficult to defend Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant following his big night in a 122-112 road win on Sunday (33 points/5 rebounds/10 assists/1 steal/12-23 FG/3-7 3-PT/6-8 FT).

“He’s one of the best in the league for a reason. If you’re not locked in, tied together, connected defensively, everybody on the same page understanding what you’re doing in the pick & roll situation, whether you’re switching or bluing, communicating and talking, he’s gonna do what he normally does if you’re not locked in. What you want to do is slow him down and break his rhythm, and we didn’t do that. He’s a great player. It takes an extra focus to slow him down.”
