The Phoenix Suns have finally activated Landry Shamet to their lineup this Saturday against the Utah Jazz, coach Monty Williams confirms to Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports.
Shamet already aired his expectations that he’ll finally play after seven-straight games of being out due to concussion.
“I feel a lot better,” Shamet told Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. “You know, trusting our medical staff, they’ve been great. Concussions are weird. I don’t know, they just are. Sometimes you don’t really know what your feeling or what you’re supposed to feel, so really just communicating with them, trusting them.
“They’ve been great taking the lead and I feel really, really good, progressing back and I’m excited to get back going here (Saturday) hopefully.”
Shamet, 25, has appeared in nine games this season while averaging 7.0 points, 1.2 boards, and 40.0 percent shooting from the field. His return can only add needed breathing room for Cam Payne with Chris Paul still out due to a heel injury.
The two-guard previously inked a four-year, $43MM rookie scale extension with Phoenix last offseason.
