Patrick Beverley and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were teammates on the Clippers during the 2018-2019 season which SGA’s rookie year.

The Lakers point guard remembered that from day one he new that the rookie will be a superstar. “From day one when I seen this young boy with the Clippers [I told him he would be a superstar]…,” Pat Bev recalled his podcast with Rone.

“He no drink, no smoke, just locked in on basketball locked in on fashion. We make sure we stood on that sh*t, like, you can’t go out with us, we better not see you out with us,” Beverley told how the Clippers players made Gilgeous-Alexander had proper discipline.

Pat Bev also remembered how SGA reacted to getting traded to the Thunder in a trade that saw Paul George land with the Clippers. “He was mad about [the trade] saying ‘You could’ve had me and Paul George.’ That’s a ballsy thing to say for a sophomore. He knows exactly who he is – he’s a superstar.”

The 24-year-old point guard is having his best year in the NBA so, averaging 31.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 36.1 minutes per game.
