Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball reinjured his left ankle on the team’s 125-113 loss against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

Ball rolled his ankle after a steal attempt, accidentally stepping on the foot of a fan courtside. He was aided to be carried off the court and eventually exited the match prematurely.

The All-Star point man ended the evening with 26 points (10-for-17 shooting), six assists, and two steals. His status is yet to be revealed, though it is safe to assume that he will miss plenty of time.

Ball was absent from the Hornets’ 13 games to start the season due to a sprained left ankle. In three games he appeared for the club, he is averaging 19.3 points, 7.0 assists, and 3.7 boards in 32.7 minutes.

Following the defeat, the Hornets now dropped to 4-12, the 14th-ranked record in the Eastern Conference ladder.
