During his first year in Los Angeles in 2019-2020 Anthony Davis won his first and so far the only NBA championship. Since then the Lakers have been going through tough couple of years.

His fourth year LA has started poorly as well. Ten games into the regular season the Lakers are 2-8 which puts them at the bottom of the Western Conference.

Speaking after another loss against the Jazz (139-116), AD expressed his disappointment. However, he admitted that it is still early in the season and the Lakers can still turn it around.

“Honestly, it sucks,” Davis, who scored 29 points against Utah, said. “We don’t want to be 2 and 8 at all. We got guys out. Pat [Patrick Beverley] and Lonnie [Walker IV] didn’t play, Bron [LeBron James], DS [Dennis Schroder] is yet to play, Thomas [Bryant]. It sucks for sure.

“But you got to look at the big picture. It’s been 10 games, but still fairly early in the season. 2 and 8 is a hard pill for me to swallow. You can obviously change it around. We’ve seen teams. I think New Orleans were 1 and 12 last year or something like that and then come back and made a run.”

Davis also pointed at a poor defensive effort from his team, including himself. He remembered the 2019-2020 championship season when played the four position, saying that playing the five makes it more difficult for him to be as effective on the defensive end.
