Phoenix Suns wingman Cam Johnson will undergo surgery to repair his torn meniscus, multiple sources have confirmed.

Johnson sustained the said injury during the Suns’ eventual 108-106 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers. He left the game after landing his foot awkwardly.

His absence heavily blows not only the Suns but also himself. Johnson was enjoying a full-time starting role for the Suns this season, averaging 13.0 points, 3.4 boards, 1.8 assists in 25.2 minutes. The injury occured meant unpleasant also for his looming restricted free agency status next offseason.

The Suns haven’t announced yet the timetable of return for Johnson.
