The Boston Celtics star guard Marcus Smart was interviewed following the team’s 126-117 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on opening night.
On the way the Celtics came out and played in their opener, Smart said, “I’m proud of it. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of things we can fix, but … to be able to come out and respond the way we did, I’m proud of this team.”
On the altercation with big man Joel Embiid, Smart said, “I could have cracked his head open but I didn’t.” Smart believed Embiid tried to break his arm, but his own reaction showed maturity and that the team has the same maturity as well.
