Andre Iguodala won’t be available to play in the Golden State Warriors’ 2022-23 season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, head coach Steve Kerr confirms on Tuesday (h/t ClutchPoints’ Jack Winter).

“He won’t be ready for the first game. We’re gonna push that back, really look at the big picture,” Kerr said. “It’s an 82-game season, so we want him healthy long-term. Given that he needed some time in camp and needs some time to get where he needs to be, he won’t be ready by opening night.”

Iguodala remains unlikely to play in the Dubs’ current preseason. He is yet to participate in the team’s scrimmage.

The veteran decided to land a late decision to return to the Warriors for the final time this season.
