Washington Wizards sophomore Cory Kispert remains optimistic regarding his ankle recovery.

Though the injury served as a tough blow because it appeared during the preseason, Kispert is still thankful that it did not happened on a critical time of the season.

“Well, it’s not going to last forever, right? In the grand scheme of things, a sprained ankle is not the end of the world,” Kispert said, via NBC Sports’ Chase Hughes. “It’s been a tough last couple of days. Getting out of bed and moving around has been difficult, but I know I’ll be back sooner rather than later.

“Thankfully I’m not missing important games down the stretch. The preseason is important, but if I were to choose a time to miss, it’d be now.”

Kispert was announced out for four-to-six weeks due to the ankle sprain, making him unavailable on the Washington’s season opener within next two weeks. The injury occured upon a layup attempt during his team’s NBA Japan Games against the Golden State Warriors last week.
