The Atlanta Hawks are considering one of their core pieces as a potential trade chip this summer.

Appearing on Dunc’d On Basketball NBA Podcast, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report has reported that the Hawks are eyeing on John Collins to be shipped in the offseason market (h/t HoopsHype).

Added by Fischer, the franchise do look at the forward as “the guy that they’re most interested in moving.”

There’s someone I talked to today who had just spoken to Atlanta in recent days who said John Collins is clearly the guy that they’re most interested in moving.

Off from a promising 2020-2021 season, Atlanta struggled in this year’s campaign with almost the same lineup they had from their recent Conference Finals appearance. They needed two Play-in wins in order to qualify in this postseason, only to bow down against the Miami Heat in their first-round series.

As such, Collins can truly entice several teams for a possible transaction, while the Hawks may gain a reasonable return which can help them back to contend in the East.

The high-leaping cager had a 2021-2022 season average of 16.2 points, 7.8 boards, 1.8 assists, and 52 percent field efficiency across 54 occasions.
