The Houston Rockets will now see some new faces in their coaching staff moving forward.

Per Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston, assistants Jeff Hornacek and Will Weaver will not return to the Rockets for the 2022-2023 season. Both Hornacek and Weaver served under Stephen Silas’ strategic leadership for the past two seasons.

Barbara Turner, the team’s player development assistant, will also leave Texas to claim her position as lead assistant of the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream (h/t Jonathan Feigan of Houston Chronicle).

There is no word yet on who will fill the vacated coaching slots in Houston. As such, John Lucas, DeSagana Diop, and Rick Higgins will remain on the sidelines to help Silas.

The Rockets are still under construction to solidify their core and be prepared for an astounding takeoff in the future. Featuring young gems in Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and Kevin Porter Jr., the ball club stands as one of the most talented teams in the NBA.

They have a chance now to add another impactful piece to their grand program. Houston is set to be in the lottery for the upcoming draft after having a league-worst 20-62 record for the 2021-2022 regular season.
