Lakers rookie Austin Reaves took advantage of the opportunity to play big minutes in the last game of the regular season. The 23-yer-old shooting guard scored career-high 31 points as Los Angeles edged Denver in overtime (146-141). He finished the game with a triple-double as he also grabbed 16 rebounds and 10 assists.

“It feels amazing. At the end of the day it’s just basketball,” Reaves said postgame. “I’m lucky to be here playing basketball as my job. It hadn’t been a year we wanted it to be things happen and you move on, you learn from them and you get better.”

This season Reaves averaged 6.9 points, 3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.9 minutes per game.
