The Clippers extended the losing streak of the Lakers by crushing them 132-111 at Crypto.com Arena. The hopes of getting a direct playoff spot are minuscule for the purple and gold, considering the run that they are in right now.

Third quarter was especially devastating to the Lakers as they lost it by 22 points (18-40) and the Clippers completely took over the game.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel credited his opponents for a good game during a press conference. “They made every shot coming out of the third and we tried to start a different lineup, started the lineup that went on that 14-0 run try to capture some of that momentum and it just turned in that third.

“We missed some open looks, they knocked down a bunch, Zubac did a good job punishing our switches. Really there was a lot of offensive plays that didn’t quite go our way that led to transition run outs.

“I don’t know what they shot from the three in that quarter but they shot 63 percent overall. Story of the four-game series against these guys. They shot 43 coming into this game. They’re a great shooting team, credit them.

“They’re 8-9 open threes, we were 1-16. I think probably some of that in that third quarter was during that stretch. But we got to figure out a way to be better. We’re going to continue to grind and continue to work and seek solutions.”
