The Lakers are once again on a three-game losing after getting defeated by the Mavericks (104-109). While the players and the staff of purple and gold have been talking about the playoffs, there is a real possibility that the Lakers will not even make to postseason.

Los Angeles remains in ninth place in the Western Conference but the gap between them and eleventh-placed Portland is very narrow. Further losses could push the Lakers down.

Amid this losing streak LeBron James, who had team-high 26 points against the Mavs, says that it all depends on how his team responds to losses. Despite the Dallas loss, he thinks that the Lakers played good basketball.

“It all depends how we respond,” James said. “Obviously we had the Clipper loss, then we responded to the way we played against the Pelicans. Obviously this game is done with, we had our chances, we played good basketball, defended well versus one of the best offensive teams, especially in like the last 10-12 games they’ve been exceptional. But it all depends how we respond.”
