Philadelphia 76ers are hoping to be able to re-tool their roster around Joel Embiid, and they could achieve that in a potential blockbuster trade centered around Ben Simmons.

During his appearance on The Hoop Collective Podcast, ESPN’s Marc Spears reported the Sixers have had talks with the Atlanta Hawks about Simmons; however, the negotiation is considered a ‘long shot’, because Philadelphia wants to include Tobias Harris.

In another scenario, the 76ers are hoping to convince Simmons to play again for the team and supposedly improve his market value.

Trying to attach Harris to any Simmons deal seems like it would make a move harder to facilitate because of his contract.

Harris, who is owed $76.9 million over the next two seasons, is averaging 18.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in 29 games.
