Damian Lillard won’t join the Portland Trail Blazers’ lengthy road trip from January 10 to 23 following the said ball club’s upcoming home game against the Sacramento Kings.

As reported by Bleacher Report’s Sean Highkin, head coach Chauncey Billups declared the decision, further saying that the superstar point guard will meet with a specialist to consult his abdomen injury — an issue which has floated since his fruitful Olympic stint in Tokyo last year.

On January 5, Portland already announced that Lillard won’t be able to suit up against the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and on Sunday against the Kings.

With that provided update about Lillard, chances of him to sit down for the rest of the season is now even more possible — an idea that Billups didn’t deny earlier this week to allow the six-time All-star to be fully rejuvenated. As such, numerous teams are now monitoring on how the franchise will further handle the recovery process of their homegrown star.

The Blazers are holding a 14-24 card and are three games away from the Play-In tournament, while sitting at the 12th place in the Western Conference.
