The wait is over. In just a few hours, Klay Thompson is set to play his first NBA game in two and a half years as the Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 31-year-old shooting guard has been out due to injuries since the 2019 NBA Finals. His upcoming return is eagerly anticipated by the fans and the league’s stars alike.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took to Twitter to share his reaction to Thompson’s comeback. The four-time NBA champion tweeted a series of fax machine and fire emojis.
James and Thompson clashed in four straight NBA Finals through 2015-2018 with Golden State winning the title three times.
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is also excited to see the Dubs star play again. “Good Morning!!!! Today is Klay Day! Welcome back @KlayThompson,” he tweeted.
