Ben Simmons may not be part of the Philadelphia 76ers after the February 10 trade deadline, per John Hollinger of The Athletic.

As Hollinger reports, the Sixers have no desire to keep the All-Star guard until the end of the season and plan to trade him at the deadline.

“Despite the Sixers’ bluster to the contrary, the consensus opinion around the league remains that Philadelphia is more likely to act at the trade deadline than carry this all the way through ’til next summer, so as to avoid punting on a year of Joel Embiid’s prime.

The counterargument is that the Sixers, as presently constituted, have been unimpressive enough that it might not hurt much to wait,” Hollinger writes.

Ben Simmons hasn’t played for Philadelphia this season and has expressed his desire to part ways with the team. Yet, no team has reached a deal with the Sixers so far. Philadelphia currently is sixth in the East, with a 19-16 record.
