The Los Angeles Lakers are the undisputed most hated NBA team in the United States based on Geotagged Twitter data.

In a study revealed by SportsBetting AG last week, the Lakers ranked first as the most despised team of all 30 teams across the league, with 25 U.S. States showing their anger frequently on the 17-time champions.

The Brooklyn Nets came in at the 2nd spot, while the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics are tied at the third spot with four states each.

The Lakers, bannered by their Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, remain lopsided on this season with a 16-16 record. While there’s no question that these three serve as factors, L.A. has been the big market, the darling city which serves as the home of biggest stars from different industries.

On the other hand, the presence of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden might be an impactful thing on the Nets’ position. For the Warriors, the sustaining dominance and reemergence from the leadership of Stephen Curry truly resonate. The Celtics, meanwhile, will always be known as one of the best features of Boston – a legitimate sports city.
