Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly shown interest in acquiring disgruntled All-Star Ben Simmons from the Philadelphia 76ers.

NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed to Mike Scotto of HoopsHype that the Lakers contacted the Sixers for a potential trade offer for Simmons, who has yet to make his debut this season.

“The only outgoing call I confirmed was to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons… When I got the information that they called about Ben, the conversation pretty much was, “We’re interested in Ben. How would we get there?” The obvious solution is Russell Westbrook. He’s not a player on that Sixers list that they have.”

This all but confirms the Lakers’ intention to ship off Westbrook, who hasn’t really been a great fit for the team early in the season.

This could mean that the Lakers are still shopping Westbrook around as they look for any potential takers, after their mediocre start to the season.
