Kemba Walker will not be in the lineup of the New York Knicks in the foreseeable future, head coach Tom Thibodeau announced.

As Thibodeau told reporters on Monday, Walker will be out of the rotation ‘as of right now’. The veteran coach admitted this was a tough decision to make, but it is the best for the team at the moment.

In addition, Alec Burks will remain the starting point guard of New York, with Kemba Walker out. The four-time NBA All-Star has started 18 of the first 19 games this season. He was out due to rest for the team’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

Kemba Walker is averaging a career-low 11.7 points (on 42.9% shooting), 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds with the Knicks this season. New York is seventh in the East, with an 11-9 record.
