FC Barcelona and Olympiacos extended their winning streaks during Day 2 of EuroLeague Round 12 on Friday night.

The Catalans dominated Zalgiris Kaunas at home and are still tied with Real Madrid on top of the standings. The hosts led from start to finish and cruised to an easy win over the Lithuanians (96-73).

FC Barcelona improved to 10-2 and have now won four straight. The hosts are now getting ready for their clash with Anadolu Efes (December 3) and Real (December 10), respectively. On the other hand, Zalgiris dropped to 2-10 and remains on the bottom.

At the sold-out Mediolanum Forum, Olympiacos was impressive on both ends and dominated Armani Milano (72-93). The “Reds” were excellent offensively in the first half (45-60) and never looked back. Even though the Italians attempted a comeback, the Greeks conceded just 27 points in the second half and sealed the deal.

Olympiacos, who set a new club record in three-pointers (18/33), improved to 8-4 and has now won two in a row. On the contrary, Armani is also at 8-4, but currently is on a three-game losing streak.

In the first game ever between two French clubs in EuroLeague history, ASVEL Villeurbanne survived a late thriller over Monaco and claimed a big road win (84-85).

In the final play of the game, William Howard (23 points, 8/10 shooting) made the insane three-pointer from halfcourt at the buzzer. The referees counted the basket after watching the instant replay and ASVEL emerged victorious.

ASVEL snapped a three-game losing streak and climbed to 7-5. For their part, Monaco has now lost three straight and four of their last five and dropped to 5-7.

UNICS Kazan made another dominant performance and decimated Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade (78-98). The Russians set a new club record in assists (24) and three-pointers (15/32) and cruised to the victory.

The visitors extended their winning streak to four games and have lost only once in their last seven EuroLeague games. They currently are at 7-5. For their part, Zvezda is on a three-game losing streak, dropping to 4-8.
