Anthony Davis and the Lakers could not stop Giannis Antetokounmpo, who exploded for 47 points to lead the Bucks to an important home win over the title favorites this season.

After the contest, Davis talked about Giannis’ dominance and his improved shooting, even when the Lakers tried to stop him from going downhill. Antetokounmpo finished the first half of the game with 28 points.

“But we kind of switched it up in the third quarter, just trying to be a little more physical and it slowed him down and he made a couple more jumpers. And then he got, when we went zone, they put him in the middle and he posts up to the basket, and now you’re scrambling because they overload one side.

So they did a good job of trying to figure out that zone. But he’s a hell of a player. A lot of his shots were in the paint, most of them, but he was hitting some big time shots, kind of keeping us honest,” Davis said.

The reigning Finals MVP hit 3-of-4 from deep, making a major difference for the Bucks, who improved to 7-8. The Lakers dropped to 8-8. The Lakers hope to bounce back against the Celtics on Friday night.
