With the Kings (5-8) in the midst of a four-game losing streak heading into a Monday night game at Detroit, the Luke Walton era might not last much longer in Sacramento.

According to Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Kings may move on from the veteran coach, if the team continues its slide.

Per Amick and Charania, the Kings are set on snapping their 15-year playoff drought this season, so an extended losing streak won’t be tolerated.

Walton has two years remaining in his contract for a combined $11.5 million. Walton has a 62-82 record in his first two seasons with the Kings. Last season, the team was not able to reach the playoffs for the 15th consecutive time.

The Kings face the Detroit Pistons on Monday, hoping to bounce back from an egregious defeat vs. the rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder.
