Last season, the Atlanta Hawks went all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals where they lost the series to the eventual NBA champions the Milwaukee Bucks.

After raising the bar for themselves last year, the Hawks find themselves struggling in the early part of the 2021-2022 NBA season. Atlanta have lost four of their last five games and now have four wins and five losses.

According to the team’s star Trae Young, the Hawks players need to find motivation for the regular season games.

“I think guys are learning that. We’re no longer the hunters,” Young said, per Chris Kirschner. “It’s regular season. I’m not going to lie, it’s a lot more boring than the playoffs. You got to find that motivation to play like the playoffs.”

This season Young is averaging 22.6 points 3.8 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game for the Hawks. In his most recent outing the 23-year-old point guard had 21 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists in loss against the Utah Jazz.
