Los Angeles Lakers were able to secure their third win over a young Cleveland Cavaliers team. After the contest, Lakers’ superstar LeBron James praised rookie big Evan Mobley, who had a career night in LA.

“He’s going to be a damn good basketball player in this league,” James said of Mobley following the Lakers’ 113-101 win. “It’s so crazy because he was just playing against my son a couple years ago,” per Chris Fedor of cleveland.com.

Mobley went off for a career-high 23 points, on 10-of-16 from the field, to go with six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. No wonder, James, who saw Mobley playing against his son a few years back, is impressed.

“It’s weird. It’s getting more weird by the day. He was playing against my son in the playoffs two years ago and obviously, we saw what he did in the tournament – just electrifying.

Cleveland has a good one. They’ve done a good job over the years in the draft, I’ll say,” the future Hall of Famer continued on the 2021 third overall pick.

Mobley is averaging 15.3 points on 53.3% from the field, including 33.3% from 3-point range, to go with 8.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals through six games.

He has already registered two double-doubles, while he scored in double figures in all of Cavs’ games this season. The future is bright for the promising center.
