Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard had an interesting take today on being named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. The 31-year-old said he’s honored to make the list, but did reveal it came as a surprise after finding out names like Dwight Howard, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Alex English were not selected.

When comparing résumés, Dwight Howard has far more accolades than Lillard and all of the players he mentioned. Up until this point, Lillard is just a 6x All-Star and 6x All-NBA Team member. While Howard has been named to 8 All-Star Games, 8 All-NBA Teams, 5 All-Defensive Teams, won 3 Defensive Player of the Year Awards, and earned multiple rebounding/blocks titles (5 REB/2 BLK).
