ALBA Berlin could not secure its second EuroLeague victory at home vs. Baskonia, despite Oscar da Silva’s excellent performance.

The German national joined the German BBL reigning champions after the first match day of the easyCredit BBL, leaving from MPH Riesen Ludwigsburg.

Since then, and after helping MHP Riesen finish at the top of the 2020-21 table in the regular season, he made the jump to the Basketball Bundesliga champions.

In his first three EuroLeague games of his career, the promising forward has been one of the best players for his team, averaging 17.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest.

He had his career-high in points and index rating in Round 3 game vs. Fenerbahce, where ALBA Berlin managed to secure its first win in this season’s EuroLeague.

He is fifth in PIR among some of the biggest games in European basketball, averaging 21.0 through three appearances, while he is also fifth in points among forwards, like Nikola Mirotic and Tornike Shengelia.

The German forward certainly has many things to improve, but he seems to belong in the top-tier league of the European basketball.

His efficiency remained high in the biggest stage so far, shooting an impressive 63 percent from the field. Last season, he put up 16.6 points on 64 percent shooting through 17 games with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.

While ALBA will possibly not be among the top-10 teams in the standings this season, the young promising players of the team will be an interesting story to follow.
