Six games, zero wins and six losses. That is the Los Angeles Lakers preseason. Despite not winning a single preseason game, the team is almost ready for the regular season, says James Worthy.

The Hall of Famer, who won three NBA championships as a Laker, was happy to see the key players getting more playing time and getting closer to where they want to be when the games that matter begin.

“Thank goodness they’ve gotten enough game-playing time,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet. “Because we were a little bit concerned first that they were relying on practice, guys weren’t really getting into preseason games. I think the last two games, especially the Big Three, they got on string together, got on the chemistry going.

“And now I think with the remaining practices they should be able to kind of propel themselves to a chemistry. Carmelo played well, Bazemore played well. They key players that are going to be playing I feel like the last couple of games they got closer to where they want to get. They still got to finish up the edges and dot the eyes and cross the cheese and they’ll be ready.”
