Tornike Shengelia continued his hot start to the EuroLeague season by leading CSKA Moscow to a 77-67 Russian derby home win over Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday to earn his second consecutive MVP of the Round honor.

Shegelia’s performance index rating of 37 tied his career high after 187 EuroLeague games. And his 33 points and 10 two-pointers made were personal bests, too.

He made 10 of his 16 two-point attempts, 2 of 4 three-pointers and 7 of 11 free throws. He also drew 7 fouls and collected 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

This is the sixth MVP of the Round honor of Shengelia’s career. He’s the first player to win back-to-back honors in the EuroLeague since Shane Larkin of Anadolu Efes Istanbul did it an unprecedented four times in a row in January of 2020.
