Ben Simmons is likely ready to return to the Philadelphia 76ers’ camp, after months of refusing to attend the team’s training camp.

Now, with regular season days away from its start, the three-time All-Star could be on his way back, with Doc Rivers confirming his ongoing talks with Rich Paul.

According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, the veteran coach reinstated he wants Simmons back to the team, claiming the Sixers’ stance has not changed. However, Rivers revealed he hasn’t talked to Simmons yet.

It remains to be seen if Simmons will be ready to play as soon as he joins the team. Rivers deemed he’s not worried about the Sixers’ locker room situation with Simmons back.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers are still exploring trades for the 25-year-old guard. With that being said, the team could hope to reinstate Simmons in the roster to just regain leverage to potential negotiations.

All in all, the situation around the Australian superstar seems to remain complicated, with both sides possibly hoping to part ways as soon as possible, especially if Simmons is not committed to play at his best.
