The Los Angeles Lakers fielded two of their Big Three in a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook played for the first time together as teammates.

They both started and played similar minutes. James had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 18 minutes of play while Westbrook played 17 minutes, scoring 2 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing 2 assists. However, Russ also had 6 turnovers. The Dubs won the game 121-124 to keep their opponents winless in preseason games.

After the game, Westbrook was asked to talk about his experience of playing alongside James. “The things he’s able to do on the floor at his size at his pace helps me a lot just because of having somebody next to you running over the same speed, the same force,” he said. “Every time he’s on the floor it’s beneficial to us, especially in transition.”
