DeAndre Jordan was one of the latest additions to the Los Angeles Lakers. The 33-year-old center became available after agreeing to a buy-out with the Detroit Pistons following his trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

After a preseason loss to the Suns, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked how the addition of Jordan impacted his plans to use Anthony Davis more at the center position this year.

“You look at what’s available in the buy-out market,” Vogel said. “When [DeAndre Jordan] became available, it became clear to us that we had an opportunity to look a lot like we did two years ago with elite shot blockers and in lob threats. But I don’t think you really put together your plan of how much AD is going to play the 4-5 until your team is whole. And once you figure that out, you make those decisions.”
