Pau Gasol announced his retirement from professional basketball and FC Barcelona fans paid tribute to the legendary big man.
In the game against Zaragoza on Tuesday, FC Barcelona presented a tribute video with Gasol’s best moments. At the same time, the Spanish center received a standing ovation from fans in attendance.
Pau Gasol spent the last season of his career with FC Barcelona. He won the ACB title and reached the EuroLeague Championship Game. Last summer, he made his final appearance with the national team of Spain in the Olympic Games. He played in five Olympics and won a total of 11 medals in FIBA competitions.
Gasol had a great career in the NBA. He won back-to-back championships with the Los Angeles Lakers (2009, 2010). The Lakers plan to retire his No.16 jersey.
