Denver Nuggets agreed on a five-year extension, worth $207 million, with Michael Porter Jr. The promising forward will be the third max contract to the Nuggets’ roster after Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Porter has to make one of the three All-NBA Teams in 2021-22 in order to get that max number, otherwise this deal is worth $172 million.

The Nuggets’ forward joins Trae Young, Luka Doncic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the only ones that got selected in the 2018 NBA Draft and received max extensions.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in 2020-21, putting up 19.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, He will remain the no.2 option behind Nikola Jokic, as Denver awaits the return of Jamal Murray from a torn ACL.

The Nuggets also paid Aaron Gordon this summer, as the high-flying forward signed a four-year extension, worth $92 million.
