Real Madrid stood tall vs FC Barcelona (83-88) and claimed the Spanish Super Cup for a second straight year.

It was a late thriller that was decided in the final seconds. Real came back from a 19-point deficit in the third quarter (63-44) and took the lead, thanks to an 18-39 run.

FC Barcelona star Brandon Davies tied the game, though, with 35 seconds to go (83-83). The “Whites” closed the game on an 0-5 run to seal the deal and successfully defend their title.

Sergio Llull was the best player of Real Madrid, with 24 points in 20 minutes and was named the MVP. On the other hand, Cory Higgins had 16 points for FC Barcelona.

This was the second straight Super Cup for Real Madrid, which won the first El Clasico of the season vs FC Barcelona. Both teams now have their sights set on the start of Liga Endesa next weekend.
