Agent Rich Paul is working with the Philadelphia 76ers on a Ben Simmons’ trade, however Tyrese Maxey -also Paul’s client- is not expected to be included in a deal for Simmons, per Jason Dumas of KRON4 News.

Maxey could be in for a bigger role with Simmons gone, depending of course on what the Sixers will receive in return for the three-time All-Star.

Whether the first report was a false alarm or an empty threat by his agent, it appears Maxey wants to remain in Philadelphia.

Maxey had a good rookie season considering he was part of the Eastern Conference’s best team. The Sixers fell short in the playoff, but Maxey remained poised all season and became a contributor to a contending team.

The former Kentucky guard averaged 8.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.7 assists per contest, shooting 46 percent from the field and 30 percent from deep in 61 appearances with the Sixers.
