The Los Angeles Lakers have signed point guard Rajon Rondo, it was announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka.

During media availability, Rondo talked about various topics including playing at ’20 playoff level after down playoffs with the Los Angeles Clippers last season:

“I don’t think my game’s declined. You’re only as good as your coach believes in you. Going forward this year, I understand where I am in my career, but I believe I can still bring a lot to the game.”

Rondo appeared in 45 games (three starts) for the Hawks and Clippers last season, where he averaged 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 17.1 minutes while shooting 40.4 percent from three-point range.

Rondo returns to Los Angeles after averaging 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.0 steal in 94 games for the Lakers from 2018-20 while helping the team win the 2020 NBA Championship.
