Russell Westbrook has returned home after the Washington Wizards traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers a few weeks ago.
Westbrook grew up in Hawthorne, California, and attended Leuzinger High School and UCLA, before getting to the Oklahoma City Thunder via the 2008 NBA Draft.
The veteran superstar accomplished everything there is to do in the NBA with exception to a title, and that’s the reasom he opted to join the Lakers.
In his introductory press conference, Westbrook talked about the reaction of his family, after learning that he will play in his hometown next season.
“At that point,it’s my job to make sure and come and do what I’m supposed to do and that’s to compete and make sure we have a chance to compete for a championship. And yes, my family was very, very happy.”
